Geocache Flash Mob at Lost River Cave

Get excited for Bowling Green’s first ever Flash Mob!

geocacheWe are offering FREE boat tours for any children who come to the event with paying parents.

On Saturday, Nov. 14, a free event will be held as part of the PodCacher World Wide Flash Mob Project. This event may seem a little different than other Geocaching events at Lost River Cave.

The Flash Mob will begin at 10:00 am, on the dot and end at 10:15 am.

You may be wondering: why have a 15 minute event?

The main idea of the event is to create a mob that seems to form out of nowhere and get to know new geocachers.

Be sneaky! The goal is for the regular visitors not to know that the park will be descended upon by geocachers. Try your hardest to look like a regular visitor!

You should arrive well before 10:00 am to get situated for the event. When you pull into the parking lot, park past the picnic area and drop off trade items in the bucket, which will be located at “ground zero.” Feel free to use your “signature item” or anything else that describes you.

Once you’ve dropped off your items, enjoy yourself. Walk around the sluicing area, chat with a visitor, browse through the gift shop, or just enjoy the scenery.

Now this is where the “flash mob” component comes into play.

At precisely 10:00 everyone will rush to the LRC Water Wheel in the front of the property to sign the log, take group photos, and divide up the goodies  from the bucket!

At 10:15 we will move towards the picnic table area for free hot dogs, chips, drinks, and a lot of “geochat!”

You won’t want to miss the event.

To sum it all up, here is a schedule for the day!

  • Arrive before 10:00 to drop off your items and look like a regular visitor.
  • At 10:00 everyone needs to rush to the water wheel.
  • Be prepared to take pictures, sign the log, and trade your items.
  • At 10:15, adjourn to the picnic area for lunch and chatting!

We hope to see you at this FREE event!

Thank you so much for featuring our excitement for the hobby of Geocaching. Lost River Cave is a wonderful place for and outdoor activity. Again you guys have done so much for restoring the cave and the grounds. I think it’s one of the nicest parks in our area. Sunwonder, Lost river cachers.
